K-marts Klosing

KALAMAZOO --    They will be open thru Christmas but there is word that the two K-mart stores in Kalamazoo will close in February.  The company says their leases are expiring and they have decided not to renew them. 

There is one store on Westnedge in Portage, and the other is located in the mall on Stadium Drive.    The 70 employees at the Portage Store and the 63 at the Kalamazoo store were notified yesterday that February 14th, St. Valentine’s Day, will be their last day of business.  

They will have the opportunity to bid on openings at other stores, if they are willing to move.
